MPIWC Community Central The
Chapter leadership for the 2010-2011 fiscal year have made a choice to be part
of the MPI WestField Chapter Board of Directors. We have all accepted the
tremendous responsibility to be a leadership representative of a global
organization impacting our local chapter members. Our members have placed
their trust in each one of us to ensure we are providing relevant and timely
information that will provide their own individual and/or organizational Return
on Investment (ROI).
The
strategy we have developed during our Annual Board Retreat will have a direct
effect in our success as a Board, an organization and as a stakeholder. We
are all linked together in the manner we decide to move forward with our
Business Plan, team goals and how we interact and support each other.
There
is continued uncertainty in the market place. The economic landscape is not
changing fast enough for our industry and Chapter members. Our members continue
to be laid-off, have their work hours reduced or have not found employment as
quickly as they would have hoped.
These
statements alone would cause anyone to be pessimistic instead of optimistic in
what the future holds for us. However, we should not allow these market
indicators to adversely affect what we do – we are not going to hide in some
corner, close our eyes and wish on a lucky star and hope they go away.
We
have the ability to be in control of our destiny by making a choice in what we
select to do. We should embrace the excellence within ourselves and lean on
each other for support and guidance. Have comfort knowing that as an
organization and specifically your MPI WestField Chapter, the Board of
Directors are tirelessly working to provide our members with the tools and
resources to remain relevant and engaged in their careers and professional
development. However, we cannot do it alone. We are going to need
every one of you to overcome these obstacles and reach our respective goals.
